"PINYA"

Oleksandr Pinchuk, call sign “PINYA,” was a Junior Sergeant and senior machine gunner. He was born on 23 May 1996 in Mykolaiv. He attended school and later entered Odesa State University of Internal Affairs. After graduating, he worked in the police, and in 2019 he joined the National Guard of Ukraine. He received a combat veteran award for participation in the ATO and had extensive combat experience. Memories from civilian life: He played guitar, sang beautifully, and was the life of the company. He cooked well, practiced sports, loved an active life, and was always joking. He was always smiling and dreamed of having a family, a son, and a daughter. Military life: During the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr fought for his country in the National Guard of Ukraine as a serviceman of the 15th Separate Operational Brigade “Kara-Dag.” He defended Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to his brothers-in-arms, in his native Mykolaiv, Oleksandr destroyed an enemy rifleman with machine-gun fire at a distance of more than one kilometer. At the time he told his loved ones: “I am not going to retreat, much less let the occupiers into my native city. All my brothers-in-arms feel the same—we will destroy the enemy despite any obstacles.” In 2023, he volunteered to transfer to the Zaporizhzhia axis. Oleksandr was killed on 8 July 2023 in battle with Russian forces while covering his brothers-in-arms during an assault. He fought to his last breath. He was struck by a sniper and then attacked with grenades. The Hero was 27 years old. “My beloved was very brave, kind, caring, smiling—a courageous warrior. He knew how to love truly. He was a loving and wonderful son. He was the best colleague, friend, and companion; he left a piece of himself in everyone. There are no words to describe his strength and greatness.” PINYA was a very sociable and cheerful person. He carried out the most difficult missions and was a professional in his field. For our military family, this is an extremely painful loss. Words cannot convey all the pain our entire family feels.
