Abramenko Sviatoslav Vadymovych was born on May 7, 1992, in the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast.
In 2009, Sviatoslav graduated from Kramatorsk Secondary School No. 12. He then completed military service in a unit responsible for providing security for diplomatic missions. After returning home, Sviatoslav joined the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
From April 22, 2022, in accordance with a combat order, the border guard serviceman served on one of the key axes in Donetsk Oblast, where the unit was under constant enemy fire pressure.
While defending assigned lines in the area of the settlement of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast, acting as part of a border guard unit, he took part in measures to ensure national security and to hold the defensive line—repelling and containing armed aggression.
On February 9, 2023, the unit that included Chief Sergeant Sviatoslav Abramenko, despite combat losses and continuous enemy artillery shelling of its positions, bravely and heroically withstood an assault by superior enemy forces in the area of the settlement of Vodiane, Donetsk Oblast. Between 11:00 and 15:00, as a result of assault actions and enemy shelling of the platoon strongpoint “DISNEY,” Sviatoslav Abramenko sustained a concussion.
On April 5, 2023, Russian troops attempted to attack the company strongpoint “MARK” in the area of the settlement of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast. The enemy assaulted using a significant advantage in manpower. From dawn, enemy artillery carried out a massive bombardment of Ukrainian defenders’ positions. After the fire ceased, enemy infantry advanced. Border guards began repelling the attack using mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Failing to achieve success, the enemy retreated with losses. During the repulse of the attack, Chief Sergeant Abramenko Sviatoslav sustained wounds incompatible with life.
For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in the defense of Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for loyalty to the military oath, Chief Sergeant Abramenko Sviatoslav Vadymovych was awarded the Order of “For Courage,” 3rd Class (posthumously).
During his military service, Chief Sergeant Abramenko Sviatoslav Vadymovych proved himself devoted to the Ukrainian people, to military duty, and to the mission of protecting Ukraine’s state border.
In his service, he consistently demonstrated initiative and perseverance. He did not lose his composure in the face of difficulties and was always focused on achieving results. He had strong professional training and performed his duties with high quality.
