Biography:

Dmytro Shcherbyna was born on 2 December 1990 in Berdychiv. After graduating from local School No. 12, he studied at Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography. He later became an IT specialist.

In December 2022, he volunteered to defend the country. His call sign was “AYTISHNYK”. He served in the ranks of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade as a squad commander in the “Alastor” unit. He attained the rank of junior sergeant and, as a UAV operator, carried out reconnaissance tasks.

Dmytro took part in combat in the Kharkiv region and Donetsk region. For a significant personal contribution to the successful completion of military missions, he received a number of awards, including the medal “Cross of Honor”.

The warrior was killed on 20 January 2025 near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. He is survived by his wife, three sons (the youngest was two months old), his mother, sister, and niece.
