Biography:
He was born in the city of Chernihiv. In 1986, he graduated from the Tashkent Higher Combined Arms Command School. In 1991, he completed his military service with the rank of Senior Lieutenant.
He served in the 12th Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (responsible for the support, development, and operation of the nuclear arsenal of the Armed Forces of the USSR, including nuclear safety, physical security, and counter-terrorism resilience, as well as for monitoring nuclear tests conducted by other countries worldwide and in adjacent outer space).
At the start of the full-scale invasion, on his birthday he wrote wishes for the country’s development to his grandchildren and went to the military enlistment office at 5 a.m.
During the war, he was officially listed as a senior medic, but in practice he commanded an anti-tank platoon due to his experience in this field.
On March 9, 2022, he led 46 people out of encirclement in the village of Lukashivka, Chernihiv Raion, Chernihiv Oblast. He returned for his son, as a result of which he was taken prisoner. He was tortured and burned to death together with other wounded soldiers by the 55th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade (Tuva).
