Sergeant Oleksandr Stretovych served as an aviation technician (sapper) with UAV crew No. 01-01-02-02U of the 2nd combat group (reconnaissance-strike unmanned aerial systems), 1st special-purpose group (unmanned systems), within the separate special-purpose unmanned systems detachment “Wings of Omega” of the Omega Special Purpose Center of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was killed on 18 August 2025 near the settlement of Novyi Donbas, Donetsk Oblast, after being struck by an FPV drone and sustaining injuries incompatible with life. Oleksandr was born in the village of Meleni. He graduated from the local school and the Kyiv College of Architecture and Design and later worked in civilian life. He was not subject to mobilization because of his age, but at the end of 2022 he made the conscious decision to become a contract serviceman. Oleksandr was posthumously promoted to the rank of Junior Lieutenant.
