Biography:
Artem had a wide range of interests and was passionate about the history of Ukraine. He could talk for hours about the Ukrainian people’s struggle for independence, the heroic deeds of the Cossacks, and prominent figures of the country. He always had his own view on historical events and defended it with well-grounded arguments.
Among his peers, Artem was respected and held in high regard. He was loved and valued in his community because he was a person of his word and actions—someone you could always rely on.
In his senior school years, he developed a dream of becoming a serviceman. With his characteristic determination, he steadily pursued his goal. He read many books on military topics, trained in sports, and achieved significant success, receiving numerous awards, certificates, and medals.
In 2022, after graduating from the 11th grade of the Malotokmachanska Gymnasium, he enrolled in the Tavriiskyi State Agrotechnological University named after Dmytro Motornyi, Faculty of Mechanics and Technology, and dreamed of standing up for Ukraine as soon as possible.
On 18–20.03.2023 in Lviv, the Ukraine Championship (TMS Ukraine Cup) in Brazilian jiu-jitsu took place, where he won gold and silver medals and became a Champion of Ukraine.
Artem was an active member of the youth wing of the national liberation movement “Pravyi Sektor” — “Prava Molod” in Zaporizhzhia. He was always the one who went first, inspiring others with his spirit and boundless faith in Ukraine.
He actively participated in support actions advocating for the release of Azovstal prisoners and in runs supporting the Mariupol garrison — RUNFORZOVSTAL.
Artem was caring and kind and always came to help those who needed it. He had strong willpower.
He began defending Ukraine on 28 June 2023 as part of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade AZOV, military unit Z057. With honor and dignity, he fulfilled his military duty on various directions in the most intense battles. He was wounded twice, but there was no time for rehabilitation—Ukraine needed protection.
His battlefield actions, as described by eyewitnesses, are impossible to fully grasp or measure: successful reconnaissance operations, completion of the most difficult combat missions, lives saved for his brothers-in-arms, and returning the bodies of fallen fighters to their families. This is only a small part of his heroic deeds. At that time, the 12th Special Purpose Brigade AZOV was carrying out combat missions in Donetsk region.
According to his brothers-in-arms, he was devoted to the idea of freedom and independence of the Ukrainian people—a brave warrior, a highly skilled professional, respected and held in unquestioned authority. His uncompromising principles and steadfast views impressed everyone who knew him. Educated, erudite, intelligent, modest, and kind. He loved life, and above all, he loved Ukraine.
Artem held a Combatant (Participant in Hostilities) ID and the “War Veteran” medal. He was awarded the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine badge “Golden Cross.”
He was killed on 7 November 2024 while carrying out a mission to ensure the repulsion of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, showing steadfastness and courage in battle for Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Nelipivka, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.
