Biography:

Senior Soldier Faibysh Viktor Viktorovych, callsign “Bazuka,” was born in Yasynia (urban-type settlement) on 05 September 2000. He finished school. He went for compulsory military service and later signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He was a participant in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in the combat zone and defended Ukraine’s land in Luhanshchyna.

He served as the senior gun aimer of a D-30 artillery gun. A few days after the start of the full-scale invasion, his brigade was deployed to Mykolaiv. On 26 February 2022, he was killed, not letting the enemy onto the native land he loved so much. He sustained shrapnel and gunshot wounds incompatible with life.

Senior Soldier Faibysh was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class. He was also posthumously awarded the Order “Cross for Honor and Faith” for loyalty to the military oath, services to the Church of Christ, the God-loving Ukrainian people, and the State of Ukraine, and for patriotism, courage, and heroism in the defense of Ukraine in the Russian–Ukrainian war.

In Yasynia, Zakarpattia, a street was named in honor of the fallen Hero Viktor Faibysh. Before the renaming, it was Vyzvolennia Street. Now it is Viktor Faibysh Street.

Viktor is survived by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
