YEVHEN FILOV. FRIEND “FILIA” From a young age, he was part of the Kherson branch of the National Corps. Yevhen was also a supporter of the football club “Krystal Kherson” and belonged to the “Red Fox” hooligan collective. On 24 February 2022, he joined the 98th Territorial Defense Battalion Azov-Dnipro, where he successfully took part in defensive and counteroffensive operations on the Zaporizhzhia axis. In the battalion, Yevhen met legionaries from the Kryvyi Rih branch of Centuria and thus joined the organization’s activities. Later, a Kherson branch was created, and “Filia” became one of its legionaries. In 2023, after the formation of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, he and his brothers-in-arms were assigned to the 1st Mechanized Battalion. He fought on the Bakhmut axis, where—together with other Centuria legionaries—he heroically held the defense near the village of Klishchiivka. During the fighting, he sustained a shrapnel wound to his arm. He was awarded the honorary breast badge “Steel Cross.” After some time in treatment, Yevhen returned to the ranks to continue defending our land. In 2024, he was involved in the well-known defense of Avdiivka. On 8 March 2024, as a result of enemy artillery shelling on the Avdiivka axis, Centuria legionary “Filia,” together with his brother-in-arms, friend “Prots,” heroically fell in the struggle for a Great Ukraine. Zhenia was a person of life. He knew how to rejoice in every moment, loved people and movement, and was sincere, open, and vividly alive to his very bones. His laughter, jokes, and eyes that shone—everything about him spoke of a love for life and of how to live for real. Filia is forever in the ranks and in the memory of each of us.
