Biography:
Andrii Hora was born on April 26, 1999, in the city of Vinnytsia. After finishing school, he enrolled at Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University, Faculty of Physical Culture, Department of Physical Rehabilitation. By education, he was a rehabilitation specialist.
In February 2023, he signed a contract for military service. He underwent training in the United Kingdom. He served on the Donetsk axis as part of the 5th Separate Assault Kyiv Brigade (5 OShBr), in a special reconnaissance and evacuation group. In six months—dozens of combat missions, five concussions, and one wound. For a successfully executed assault, he was put forward for the “Golden Cross” award. Within a few months, without any prior military experience, he became a junior sergeant and performed the duties of the senior sergeant of an assault group.
He was killed on November 5, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Klishchiivka, Donetsk Oblast, as a result of mortar fire.
Andrii did not disgrace his Cossack surname; he remained faithful to his military oath and to his people. Now he will protect his dearest ones from the high, wise sky—forever living in the memory of family, friends, and fellow soldiers as cheerful, sincere, simple, and genuine. Andrii could not tolerate falsehood and injustice, and he was a reliable support for everyone.
For the freedom and independence of Ukraine, Andrii gave the most precious thing—his young life.
Andrii is survived by his parents, his grandfather, his wife, and a little daughter whom he loved so deeply.
May the memory of Andrii Hora live forever—of his big heart, his kindness, his strength, and his love. Because love is stronger than death, and memory is stronger than time.
