“HARVI”

He was born in Kyiv. From his school years, he believed that his place was in the army, and that his duty was to defend the state and his loved ones. In 2020, he enrolled at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Industrial Mechanical Engineering. He constantly felt out of place, and with the start of the full-scale war he tried to join the military. Due to health issues, he received many refusals, but he did not give up hope. In 2023, he decided to try one last time—to apply to Azov. After completing basic training, he became a gun aimer. He constantly worked on self-improvement, strengthening his skills and knowledge. According to his brothers-in-arms, Harvi was a true specialist, the life of the group, brave, fearless, and courageous. Considering himself young, motivated, and ambitious, he made the decision to transfer to a special purpose reconnaissance group: “I am young, and if I have already made it to war, then I must gain certain experience. I want personal growth as a warrior, to learn many new things and hone my skills to perfection.” It was there that he felt truly happy and finally understood that he had chosen the right path. Harvi was killed while carrying out a combat mission between New York and Toretsk on December 23, at the age of 23. “I fought his last battle with him. He fought with dignity; in his eyes I saw neither cowardice nor fear. In all the time we spent together, I heard only laughter and jokes from Harvi, and I saw only a smile on his face,” a brother-in-arms recalls. The call sign “Harvi” was suggested to Danylo by his fiancée. “Take it from the names of storms, because on your path you will destroy everything just to reach your goal and get what you want.” And that is how it was. Harvi was a bright person, a worthy warrior, and a true brother-in-arms—someone who would never leave you in trouble and would always find the right words of support. He was and remains the best husband, son, and brother. Forever.
