Vasyl’s life began in the village of Velykyi Poliukhiv in Lviv Oblast. He grew up hardworking, strong-willed, and open to the world. Even in his youth, he chose the path of service and joined the border troops after school. After completing his service, he worked in security and built his life in Lviv, where he lived with his family in warmth and love. Vasyl always sought to move forward and develop. That is why he pursued higher education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In everyday life, he was energetic and bright, valuing activity, sincerity, and harmony. Sport held a special place in his heart—he loved physical challenges and devoted much of his life to boxing. He also had a great love for nature: he cared for plants, loved animals, and created a fruit orchard with his own hands, which became a small symbol of his care for life. When Ukraine faced its greatest trial, he did not look for excuses or stand aside. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the defenders of Ukraine. As part of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, he carried out combat missions in the east, defending Ukrainian land in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. For his loved ones, Vasyl was not only a source of support but also a man with a great heart—kind, wise, and fair. He was respected for his sincerity, strength of spirit, and ability to support others even in the most difficult moments. He left behind not only memories but an example of true humanity, honor, and love for his homeland. “You taught us to be strong, honest, and to love our land. We will always remember your kindness, your support, your words, and your love. For us, you will forever remain a Hero,” his son Rostyslav shared. His life became an example of true devotion—to family, to people, and to his country.
