"IGNAT"

Maksym Anatoliiovych Ihnatiev, call sign “IGNAT,” was a senior soldier and reconnaissance scout of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. He began his military path in 2014 as part of the Kyiv-1 volunteer battalion, where he served until 2018. At the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined brothers-in-arms with whom he had fought since the ATO period and took part in the defense of the capital. Thanks to his experience, he became an example for others and shared his knowledge with those who had only just joined the defense of their homeland. Later, he continued serving in the reconnaissance units of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and took part in battles on the outskirts of Bakhmut. On 12 September 2023, he was killed in action during the liberation of the village of Andriivka, Donetsk Oblast. He was awarded: • “For Assistance in the Defense of Kyiv” • “Golden Cross” • “Cross of the Brave” (posthumously) • Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class (posthumously) IGNAT was a warrior—strong and courageous. A man who was not afraid to laugh in the face of death and who gave his life in the struggle for Ukraine and the freedom of his people.
