Biography:
A Ukrainian warrior, Senior Lieutenant of the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was born in Poltava, graduated from School No. 16, and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law.
In 2014, he joined the Azov Regiment as a volunteer. He rose through the ranks from a private to Deputy Company Commander for Personnel Work. He took part in all key battles, including the 2015 Shyrokyne operation.
“Kruhlyi” was not only an officer, but also a true senior brother-in-arms—always ready to support, advise, and share a joke. He loved sports, had a big heart, and an unshakable faith in victory. His commanders remember him as someone you could always rely on.
While at home on leave, Dmytro visited his former school, spoke with students, told them about service, and urged them to love Ukraine and cultivate patriotism. He lived for the military profession; he was a loyal friend, a beloved husband, and a person for whom Ukraine was above all.
On 7 June 2019, he was killed as a true warrior during heavy artillery shelling at the Svitlodarsk Bulge. He is buried at the Alley of Heroes in Poltava.
In 2020, the educational project “School of Bravery named after Kruhlyi” was created. And on 28 August 2023, in Poltava, Stanislavskoho Street was renamed in his honor—Dmytra Pruhla Street.
