“LATVIETS”

He was born on July 3, 1997, in the capital of Latvia—the city of Riga. He studied psychology, worked, and trained in knife fighting, boxing, tactics, and tactical medicine. He planned to serve in Latvia. But everything changed, and he went to Ukraine. His path in Ukraine began in 2017—by joining the Kharkiv branch of the National Druzhyny. Within the organization, he met Iks and Malysh; later, together they founded a section dedicated to studying the Italian style of knife fighting, “Kult Nozha.” In 2019, this section became the basis for the Nord Storm organization, which brought together Straight Edge supporters. In addition to training, the group actively opposed proponents of the “russkiy mir” and worked against alcohol addiction in Ukrainian society, helping to close illegal drinking spots in various districts of Kharkiv. Also starting in 2017, despite not having Ukrainian citizenship, he took part in the ATO as a military volunteer. With the start of the full-scale war, he continued fighting for Ukraine—still without citizenship, as before. On February 24, 2022, he stood up to defend Kharkiv and took part in the liberation of Kharkiv Oblast as part of the HUR MO special unit “Kraken.” He also fought in the Kherson sector and participated in the liberation of Kherson. Later, he joined the reconnaissance-sabotage special unit Hatred within the 1st assault battalion of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. On May 14, 2025, in the Kharkiv sector, “Latviiets” was wounded in battle during the successful repulse of an enemy offensive. During evacuation, he and a brother-in-arms were killed as a result of a strike by an enemy drone. During his lifetime, he was awarded the “Veteran of War” badge and the medal “For the Defense of the Hero City of Kharkiv.”
