Biography:

On the territory of the Serebrianske Forestry in Luhansk Oblast, Andrii Plytus was killed — a serviceman who, only a year earlier, and exactly one year before his death, had returned from captivity after the defense of “Azovstal”.

He was born in 1992 in the village of Mozolivka, near Nadvirna, in Prykarpattia. He was a graduate of Nadvirna Lyceum No. 1 named after Viacheslav Chornovil.

After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he returned from training courses in Zolochiv to the nearly surrounded Mariupol, risking his life because he knew his brothers-in-arms were there.

For three months, together with his brothers-in-arms, he held the defense at “Azovstal”, after which he was taken captive. He was released from captivity a year later, on 6 May 2023. After his release, the fighter returned to service and became Deputy Battery Commander for Personnel of the mortar battery of the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion.

In Russian captivity, he spent almost exactly one year as well.

It is noted that after his release from captivity, the fighter returned to service and became Deputy Battery Commander for Personnel of the mortar battery of the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion.

On 6 May 2024, while carrying out combat missions on the territory of the Serebrianske Forestry, in the area of the settlement of Dibrova, Sievierodonetsk District, Luhansk Oblast, the serviceman was killed.

At the time of his return from captivity, Andrii held the rank of sergeant.
