14.06.1985 - 04.03.2024

Marine Squad Commander, 38th Separate Marine Brigade

Biography:

Volodymyr Moiseienko stood up to defend Ukraine on 26 February 2022. He served in the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. In March 2022, he was taken prisoner. After a prisoner exchange, he did not leave military service but returned to defend his country. In 2023, he served with the 38th Separate Marine Brigade in southern Ukraine. Severe wounds and concussions did not make him stay away from his brothers-in-arms. He fought until his last breath, defending both the east and his native south. His life ended on the left bank of Kherson Oblast, near Krynky. For many months he was listed as missing. Searches, appeals, and hope were ultimately shattered. He was awarded an order for exemplary service by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the 38th Separate Marine Brigade in recognition of his capture of two Russian reconnaissance soldiers near Krynky, Kherson Oblast. He received the “Strength in Unity” badge from the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade for helping repel a difficult mechanized assault near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast. He was also awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class.
