Biography:
Volodymyr “MAORI” — Hero of Mariupol. At war since 2015. At the start of the new war, he was serving in the Security Service of Ukraine. Together with his brothers-in-arms, he held the defense of Mariupol. He sustained shrapnel wounds to his arm as a result of a tank shot.
After a month of defense with weapons in their hands, they managed to break through the encirclement and fight their way to Zaporizhzhia. He went to Odesa, where he signed a contract with the Marine Infantry and joined reconnaissance. He carried out missions in the south.
He was killed on 5 September 2022 in Kherson region as a result of enemy MLRS shelling.
Our armored vehicles got into an ambush and called for help. “MAORI”, together with the company commander, came to assist, and as soon as they approached near the field, they were hit by the “Uragan” MLRS. With numerous and very severe injuries, he was evacuated and transferred to a hospital, where he died. (At the moment he was handed over to the hospital, he was still breathing.)
