Biography:

Maksym was born and raised in Lviv.

He studied at “Provesin” Gymnasium, where he was an active student and always remained honest, fair, and sincere. He was a multiple-time champion of Lviv Oblast and a medalist, finalist, and prize-winner at the Ukrainian boxing championships.

From the beginning of the full-scale war, Maksym made the decision to defend his homeland. With great determination and motivation, he completed the required training. In early 2023, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and joined the 80th Air Assault Brigade—where he had long aspired to serve.

Maksym took part in numerous battles to liberate Ukraine from the occupiers, including in the settlement of Klishchiivka. Later, he was appointed a UAV pilot in the UAV platoon, a role that filled him with happiness and pride. According to his commanders and fellow soldiers, he was always noted for courage, devotion, and selflessness. On multiple occasions, he evacuated wounded comrades from the battlefield, saving their lives.

On May 25, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission as part of the 80th Halytska Air Assault Brigade, Airmobile Battalion, in Klishchiivka, Bakhmut District, Soldier Kit Maksym Ivanovych was killed heroically. As a UAV pilot, he made a brave decision to go to the aid of comrades from adjacent units, drawing enemy fire onto himself and thereby saving them. While moving to the forward-most position, he was struck by an enemy FPV drone. Sadly, he died from his wounds at the age of 21.

He was courageous, exceptionally determined, strong in spirit, purposeful, and a man of honor and dignity. He always stood up for justice and honesty. He was a beloved husband who devoted all his free time to his family, a loving son, a loyal friend, and a reliable brother-in-arms—someone whose whole life lay ahead, with goals and plans for the future that were cut short forever.
