Ihor Vlasiuk: the story of a Hero who gave his life for Ukraine

Ihor Vlasiuk was born on July 30, 1991, in the picturesque village of Peredmirka, part of Borsukivska Hromada. His family knew him as an active, intelligent, hardworking, and sincere boy who always sought justice and acted according to his conscience.

From childhood, Ihor stood out for his intelligence, energy, thirst for life and knowledge, broad talents, inner strength, sense of fairness, and desire to help others. He had an unwavering character and firm loyalty to his principles, believing in honesty and justice—values that became an important guide in his adult life.

At school, Ihor showed exceptional ability in learning and creativity. He graduated with a gold medal, a source of pride for his family and community.

People in the community remember him as someone who did not like pomp, but was always ready to act.

From an early age, he loved sports, a passion his father nurtured and supported—along with Ihor’s drive for learning and self-development.

Ihor was a well-rounded and extraordinary person. He was passionate about riding a motorcycle, loved rock music, and played guitar in a rock band.

He achieved major results in sports: a Master of Sport of Ukraine in powerlifting, and a winner and medalist of many powerlifting competitions. He also played rugby—as a player for RC “Batyary,” Lviv.

He loved life to the fullest and lived it intensely, brightly, and wholeheartedly.

He graduated from the Lviv State University of Life Safety. After graduation, he worked for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the city of Kremenets, completing his service with the rank of Senior Lieutenant of the State Emergency Service.

In 2022, when war came to Ukrainian land, Ihor did not stand aside. He volunteered to join the Defenders of Ukraine, demonstrating true courage and patriotism. Ihor considered it his duty to defend his country and his loved ones so they could live in freedom and safety.

He began his combat path in the AZOV Brigade. He went through a hard route from commander of a mortar crew of a battery, to gun commander, to senior battery officer.

As a sergeant and gun commander of the ART DIVISION within Timur Special Unit of the HUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ihor proved himself an experienced and decisive Warrior, earning the respect of his comrades for responsibility, bravery, and fidelity to the oath.

On April 17, 2025, in Kharkiv Oblast, Ihor Vlasiuk was killed heroically while carrying out a combat mission. He left this world showing the resilience and courage that will inspire future generations.

Ihor Vlasiuk left a bright memory as a person of honor and a Warrior who spared no effort for the common good. His name will remain forever in the hearts of his family, loved ones, friends, and the grateful community—and of the country he defended at the cost of his life.
