Biography:
He was born in Krasnostavka, Chemerivtsi District, Khmelnytskyi Oblast. He was a Ukrainian kickboxer and an Honored Master of Sport of Ukraine in WAKO kickboxing.
In 2012, he enrolled at the State Agrarian and Engineering University in Podillia, and in 2014 he began training in a kickboxing club.
Over the course of his kickboxing career, he won the World Cup twice and claimed bronze medals at the European Championships in 2016 and 2018. The Ukrainian also won the world title in the K-1 division in 2019 and earned a bronze medal at the 2021 championship. In 2017, Holovatiuk represented Ukraine at the World Games in Poland, where he won silver in the heaviest weight category (over 91 kg).
By the call of his heart, Roman left his outstanding sports career as soon as the full-scale war came to Ukraine. In the very first days of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered for the front—where he was urgently needed. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the Hero served in the Special Operations Forces.
Awards: the Order of “For Courage,” 2nd and 3rd Class.
