Andrii was killed on 28 February 2024 by a shot from an enemy tank while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Semenivka, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk Oblast. His death was connected with the defense of his homeland. Andrii was a truly brave warrior. Until his last breath, he courageously defended the integrity and borders of our state. Together with his brothers-in-arms, under shelling, he rescued wounded soldiers while risking his own life. Everyone who knew him—brothers-in-arms, friends, and colleagues—remembered Andrii as a person of great character, capable of solving any task and always ready to come to the aid of others. Throughout his life, he was persistent in the face of difficulties and had a strong sense of responsibility. During the full-scale invasion, he diligently carried out combat missions assigned by his immediate commander, clearly understood the essence of orders and the commander’s intent, completed training in France, and held high moral standards for both himself and the servicemen under his command. He defended Ukraine until his last breath. Andrii Hennadiiovych Spitsyn, call sign SAGA, will forever be 43. Glory to Ukraine!
