Biography:
Artem Polishchuk, call sign “SIMBA,” was killed on 30 March 2025 near the village of Kolisnykivka in Kharkiv Oblast. He sustained fatal wounds as a result of enemy artillery fire. He was only 24 years old.
Artem was born on 19 February 2001 in the village of Kashperivka, Zhytomyr Oblast. In 2020, he graduated from Kyiv Electromechanical Professional College. In 2023, he earned a higher education degree from the State University of Infrastructure and Technologies. He lived in Kyiv and worked throughout his studies, dreamed, made plans, and lived life fully.
In March 2023, he signed a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 1st Presidential Operational Brigade named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko, “Burevii.” He was an operator in the anti-tank guided missile section of the 4th Operational Battalion “Khoryv.”
But to us, he was much more than a serviceman.
To his parents, he was their dearest son, their pride and hope.
To his brothers and sisters, he was a kindred spirit, a source of support, someone who was always there.
To his brothers-in-arms, he was a true warrior, someone they could rely on in the hardest moments.
To friends and acquaintances, he was a sincere, kind, smiling young man with a great heart.
He is remembered as bright, strong, and courageous. People remember his sincere smile, his kind words, and the support he always found for others.
Artem was a man who did not retreat. A man of honor. A man with a great soul.
His call sign SIMBA reflected his character perfectly—strong, brave, with a big heart and light within him. That is how he will remain in the memory of everyone who knew him.
The pain of this loss cannot be expressed in words. But together with the pain, immeasurable pride in him will live forever in our hearts.
He gave the most precious thing—his life—for Ukraine, for our future, for peace and freedom.
And as long as our hearts beat, the memory of our Artem, our SIMBA, will live.
Forever in the ranks.
Forever in our hearts.
Eternal memory and glory to the Hero.
