Oleksandr was born in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast. He received a vocational education and built his civilian career with Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian railway company. He was interested in strength training, metal welding, history, sports, and active recreation. During the full-scale invasion, he defended Ukraine first as a tank gunner and later as a logistics sergeant of the 1st Tank Company, Tank Battalion, 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. For his service, he received the Presidential distinction “For the Defense of Ukraine,” the “War Veteran” badge, and the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class (posthumously). Oleksandr was killed while carrying out a combat mission near Vuhledar, Donetsk Oblast, after an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle struck his unit’s position. He fought his final battle on 27 September 2024. The defender will forever be 49. Oleksandr was a worthy warrior and a good brother-in-arms who would never leave someone in trouble and always knew the right words of support. He was and remains the best husband, brother, and father. Forever. “Oleksandr was always kind and responsive. He always did his work and helped the guys in any situation,” a brother-in-arms recalls.
