Biography:
Anton Dmyterko (call sign “TOKHA”) was born on July 25, 2001, in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, into a family of educators. From an early age, he took an interest in the history of his people and played sports—particularly freestyle wrestling and football. He was an exemplary student and athlete, taking part in various competitions and contests.
He studied at Kolomyia School No. 1 named after Vasyl Stefanyk, and later at the Ivano-Frankivsk College of Physical Culture and Sports. He earned a bachelor’s degree at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.
From his school years, he held a Ukrainian nationalist position and was an active participant in patriotic organizations: “Ultras Pokuttia,” “Pravyi Sektor,” and “Tryzub.” His active civic work alongside his brothers-in-arms—patriots—shaped the clear decision of “TOKHA’s friend” (Anton Dmyterko) to join the ranks of the best warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine—the Special Operations Forces (SSO). Even before the full-scale war, Anton signed a contract and began the path of a professional warrior and defender. Because of his honesty, sense of justice, and humanity, he held significant authority among his fellow soldiers. He never feared difficulties and was ready to carry out the most challenging task.
Anton began his path as a liberating warrior with the Khmelnytskyi 8th Special Purpose Regiment. As part of this military formation, he took part in the war of liberation on various axes, carrying out missions of extreme difficulty without hesitation—moving steadily toward one of his dreams: to join the 140th Special Operations Forces Center. In 2024, his dream came true, and he began carrying out missions as part of this unit.
For the successful planning and execution of a series of special operations in Kursk Oblast, he was awarded the Order of “For Courage,” 3rd Class.
During his service, Anton was the life of the group. Even in the darkest times, he could lift spirits and bring a ray of light. He was a role model—someone everyone looked up to and could learn a great deal from. He was an integral part of the SSO “wolf pack.”
Anton was killed on September 12, 2024, while breaking out of encirclement, near the settlement of Plehovo, Kursk Oblast, Russian Federation.
Anton Dmyterko was only 23 years old…
He is survived by his parents, his younger sister Olia, and his beloved wife Marichka.
The Hero was laid to rest in his hometown of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
