Biography:
From the first day of the full-scale invasion, 24 February, Naida Oleksii Romanovych, callsign “Tykhyi,” volunteered in the defense of the city of Kyiv as part of an artillery unit of the 72nd Brigade. He led a group that provided security and protection for the artillery unit during combat duty on the outskirts of the city of Irpin, Kyivska Oblast. He went to defend the Motherland together with his father and brother.
After the liberation of Kyiv and Kyivska Oblast, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, becoming part of the Dmytro Kotsiubailo Battalion “Da Vinci Wolves,” and continued defending the country in the east.
He took part in the defense of the last route to the city of Bakhmut—the “Road of Life.” During combat duty at a position, he held back an enemy assault, eliminated enemy personnel, held the position, and saved the lives of his brothers-in-arms. He received an award (the Cross of the Brave) for participation in an operation during the liberation of Kharkivshchyna. He rose from soldier to junior sergeant and served as a platoon commander.
While carrying out a combat mission on the Kharkiv axis on 19 July 2023, during an assault on enemy positions, he entered a small-arms fight with the enemy. In that battle, he was wounded and was killed with a weapon in his hands.
Before the war, he was a software developer. At home, he is survived by his wife and their young daughter.
