Biography:

Vladyslav Urbanovych “URBAN” was born and lived in the city of Kryvyi Rih. From an early age, he dreamed of becoming a serviceman. He studied at Gymnasium No. 8. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he consciously chose the path of a defender. He said that as a young man he had to stand up for our country and for his family.

His life was connected with military education. He graduated from the Zaporizhzhia lyceum with military and physical training. He was among the best in studies and sports, was part of the lyceum team in military-sport multiathlon, received certificates and awards, and held the qualification Candidate for Master of Sport of Ukraine.

From 2019 to 2023, he pursued higher military education at the Military Academy in Odesa.

From the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily took part in the defense of the Mykolaiv region and the city of Odesa as part of the 28th Brigade. On August 27, 2022, Vladyslav married. After receiving a bachelor’s degree, he paused his studies to defend Ukraine.

“Ordinary people are dying there—children, servicemen, people like me! They need help. Who, if not me? I studied for_toggle. I can’t keep sitting and studying, knowing that people are being killed there… I can’t…”
—Vlad’s words that tore the soul apart.

He carried out combat missions as part of the 90th Separate Airmobile Battalion named after Hero of Ukraine Ivan Zubkov, within the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. Later, he transferred to the Special Operations Forces.

From the end of May 2025, he was appointed commander of Group 4 of the SSO Regiment.

Captain Urbanovych Vladyslav, commander of a special-purpose group of a special-purpose company of an SSO detachment, faithful to the Military Oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, courageously fulfilling his military duty, was killed in battle for Ukraine—its freedom and independence—on July 11, 2025, in the area of eastern Oleksiivka, Sumy District, Sumy Region.

He was, is, and will be a model of courage, bravery, devotion, honesty, and fearlessness.

You are our Hero, our Angel, our pride.
Eternal memory to the Hero of Ukraine!
